How we check if a bag fits

Each bag's sides are sorted longest to shortest and compared with the airline's limits sorted the same way, so orientation does not matter. Airlines that publish a linear size limit are checked against length + width + depth.

Expandable bags are checked closed and expanded. Weight is the airline's packed-weight limit minus the empty bag, so you see how much you can pack. A tight fit means you are within 5% of a limit: it should pass, but a strict gate agent might still measure it.

Limits come from official airline pages and sit in our live catalog. The date above is the latest check. Rules still change by fare, route, and aircraft, so confirm on the airline's site before you fly.
